Beauvoir-sur-Niort : entre plaine et forêt
This village, at the crossroads of the Chizé forest and the agricultural plains of the southern Deux-Sèvres, is a very active center of attraction with its shops and services. A stopover on the vacation route and on the Way of Saint James along the GR 36, this village has a rich heritage: the Raimbault mill, regularly put into service, and the Romanesque church of Saint-Eutrope au Cormenier. According to a local tradition, the future king Henri IV even stayed there in an old hunting lodge. Land of hikes between marshes and forest, Beauvoir-sur-Niort invites you to discover the European fauna of the Zoodyssée de Chizé, the wine-growing past of the surrounding communes which are the last ones towards the North, in the Cognac area.
